Was taxed after my divorce settlement, is it legal if I am a non-member?

I received a pension settlement from divorce from my ex husband. I was taxed but I'm not a member of his pension. Is it legal?

Yes that is legal, in a divorce if you get half of his pension, but SARS are entitled to tax it.
