Tax payable on gift from family abroad

What are the tax outcome to inherit R500,000. 00 from family abroad and tax outcome if I receive it as a gift?
Are you not the direct beneficiary?
No - I'm asking for someone else. Is gifts calculated the same as donations tax? Isn't gifts no tax? I don't see anywhere on the SARS website that it says that.
A gift is considered a donation, however if this comes from a foreign non-South African resident then there will be no tax on this.
