Register for turnover tax with active VAT number

A trust is registered for VAT. However, the trust has been dormant for a year or so but the VAT number is still active. Can a business be run under the trust with the active VAT number and still register for turnover tax? The turnover will be less than a million rand

No the VAT number belongs to the Trust, you would need to register for a new VAT number.
