PAYE on show on payslip, do I still register?

My Payslip shows PAYE with amount of tax deducted - do I still need to register to get a tax number.

Yes you must still register as you will have to submit a tax return each year regardless of your employer paying over your PAYE each month. But check with your employer first, as they may have registered already for you.
