My husband had to buy a car to use for business purposes, may he claim this from SARS? This was part of his employment contract with the company
Does he receive a travel or company car allowance?
He receives a car allowance. He had a Service plan for the car, but it expired I would like to know if he pays for the services out of his own pocket may he claim from SARS
He may yes, he would need to include these costs in the CAR ALLOWANCE section of the tax return where SARS will work out what portion of a deduction he is allowed based on his business travel. He needs to keep a logbook in order to claim any deductions.
