Medically boarded assistance

Will you be able to assist someone for 2015 tax filing who was working in 2014 but has since may 2014 been medically boarded? What documents would you require for this?

Spinal and neck fusion. Mum not able to go back to work since then.

You would need to get the doctors to complete what is called a ITR-DD and submit this to SARS which could assist in getting the medical expenses deducted.
