Medical Aid contributions, am I due a refund?

I am on the Government Medical Aid Fund (GEMS). My employer contributes a portion and I contribute as well. Both amounts go directly off my salary as a lump sum monthly. How does this affect my tax refund?

It has no impact on any tax refund that you could get as you should be given the tax benefit during the year instead of you receiving the bulk refund upon your tax assessment.
