How long does it take SARS to issue a return?

I submitted my tax return in early July, the notice of assessment declared that I was owed a tax return. I still havn't received my tax return, and no audit appears on my profile. Is SARS just taking their time? I have heard about other people also not receiving their tax returns this tax year.

It is probably most likely that SARS is saying you have outstanding tax returns from prior years, have you been submitting each year?

I have been submitting my tax return every year. I had this issue with my tax return last year and updated all the tax returns I was required to. I also sent a notice of statement to see if anything was outstanding, but there was nothing.

I will give them a call today to see why there is a delay.
