How can SARS deduct R2500 from 7yrs ago (after a refund), and a further R2500 after I disputed it?

Rather go into a SARS branch and speak to someone senior there, explain the entire situation, take whatever documents you have and they should be able to help you get the penalty reduced.
Hi. Thank you for your response. I just want to add that this 2007 return was submitted in error as I didn't realise it was previously submitted manually. It was human error and and resent 4 versions on eFiling trying to rectify this as I panicked and they decided to audit me, then saying I owe money (which was refunded that year), and after submitting my IRP5 again they said I owe them for 2007, so they're not penalties. And all this considering I didn't even work a full year in 2007 is absolutely impossible and unacceptable. How can they send me an even higher bill after I disputed the first one. It is so wrong and has been dragging on for 4 months for a year that was never even meant to be submitted. Its ridiculous! Pls help.
The best way to resolve this would be to either hire a practitioner, but that would be very expensive given the length of your case or to go into a SARS branch yourself and request that the tax or penalty be reversed given the details of the event. Explain the full case and take through all your documents that you have.
Thank you. I appreciate the answers. At least I don't feel like I'm completely delusional :) Thanks for the insight.
Only a pleasure! Glad we could be here to assist.
