How can I remember my tax number?

I worked before at a local municipality, I'm very sure that they produced one for me so I need it in writing to use it somewhere.

Is it possible that the call centre can send me a copy of my tax number via email or fax if they confirm that I have a valid tax number

They can confirm on the phone that you have and what your tax number is.
