In order to calculate how much tax you pay click on this link and enter in the monthly amount which will show you exactly how much PAYE gets deducted each month.

Thanks Tim.

I see a UIF is deducted from my salary every month, what's that about? Whats the difference between UIF and PAYE tax?
If I must pay tax, how do I apply for tax as a first timer?

Thanks you so much for your assistance

UIF is Unemployment Insurance which is in the event you lose your job and need to earn a part of your salary from the state. PAYE is the income tax on your earnings. UIF is 1% of your Gross Salary and must get taken off. If you need to apply for a tax number then follow these instructions - Obtain a SARS Tax Number
