Can SARS go back on their policy even though dyslexia is clearly on their list of disabilities?

In my 2014 tax return I submitted all sorts of forms proving that my daughter is dyslexic and has to attend an expensive school which accommodates her learning disability. They accepted the paperwork and paid me back some of the school fees. This year (2015) they have rejected the same claim and the reason they give is that she does not attend a public school but a private one.
Was that the only reason they gave you? Does she attend the same school as she did last year?
hi there - yes its the same school. but nowhere in their documentation does it say that she must attend a public school. besides, there isn't a public school anywhere in the area that I know of that specialises in learning difficulties / disabilities.
You need to file an objection to that assessment and state exactly what you have told us. There is no reason that they should reject that claim. Please keep us updated with what is going on.
thanks for the positive advice
