Can my retirement annuity and charity contributions paid by my spouse be claimed by my spouse

Unfortunately not, these must be claimed by the person who benefits from the. However if the donations certificates are in his name then he can claim those.

You then need to file a tax return for the 2015 tax year, include these donations and retirement contributions, then in the 2016 year SARS will allow some of them as deductions.
