Can I claim from my monthly supplement expenses, or only actual medicinal expenses?

Can monthly supplement expenses be included in the "medical expenses" I spend monthly as my medical aid is only a hospital plan.
Unfortunately not, these are not prescribed medication or tests.
Okay thanks, what about non-prescription meds like over the counter medicines?
You are only able to claim what SARS calls Qualifying Medical Expenditure which must be prescribed by a doctor or registered medical practitioner.
