Authorization of financial statements

First question: Is it compulsory for me to have my financial statements signed off by a CA? Can I compile my own company's financial statements and submit them to SARS?

Second question: How do I register as a small business corporation with SARS?

Yes you can have any accountant compile your AFS if you are a small business. You don't register a SBC with SARS, you would become one if you meet the criterion under Is my Business a Small Business Corporation?

What if I cannot afford the fees for accounting services/duties? Can I compile them myself?

Yes you can do them yourself, but it would be best to have someone professional prepare them even if it isnt a CA.
