Are cellphone contracts and Laptop Contracts Tax Refundable if used mainly for work purposes

If I have a cellphone contract as well as a contract to pay off a laptop of which both are used mainly for work purposes, I would say 80%. Can I claim Tax refunds on these "assets" and how would I go about calculating the cost of the asset based on the monthly contract price.

Does you employer allow you to use these assets for your work, is it stipulated in your contract or would he provide a letter stating it?

Yes the employer does and it is stated in the contract

Then if you can prove this to SARS, the apportionment between work and business, you would be able to claim the depreciation on the devices and the call/data costs. The depreciation can be calculated using our wear and tear calculator to work our what can be claimed.
