I am applying for my tax number, but I'm not sure if I'll need my landlady to fill in the CRA01 form. I am a tenant and I pay rent to her monthly. Would she need to fill in the form, or am I okay with a certified letter from her saying that I am a rent-paying tenant?

Take your lease agreement showing proof of address, that will be enough to demonstrate.
