I received two assessments from SARS

I submitted my tax return and received a refund outcome, I later received another assessment with a different refund amount, can you explain this to me please?

We have gone and had a look, it is a revised assessment so an additional refund due to the old retirement contributions being taken into account. SARS was having a problem with this previously. So you will get both amounts.
